Our Team

Our Founders

William and Lou Ann grew up in Jefferson and met at Jefferson High School. At 16 years old, they became parents. Over 4 decades later, they share their story of overcoming life's struggles, financial failures, and William's drug addiction so that others may find the hope, peace, and forgiveness that can only be found in Jesus.

Today, they still live in Jefferson, have 3 grown children, and 2 grandsons who light up their world.

Our Mission & Goals

Street Love Ministries is a non-profit that exists to be the front-line display of the Goodness of God and the life-changing Love of Christ, by meeting basic needs and building meaningful relationships with the homeless community. SLM believes by ministering to The Least, The Last, and The Lost that a person will come to believe they matter to Him and enter into a personal relationship with Our Savior.

Our goals are simple: To show God's love unconditionally, encourage these individuals that they are valued, and lead them towards an abundant life.

Founder's Story

Upon the Lord delivering me from my meth addiction in 2008, I took up reading and came across The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Remembering this book from the 6th grade where a Godly teacher took the time to read it to our class, I picked it up and remembered thinking, even as a 6th grader, how The Lord put us here to help each other, especially the downtrodden. The more I read, the more The Spirit moved me towards putting my faith into action.

Street Love was born one Saturday morning as I drove to Athens, found a homeless camp, and offered some men a cup of coffee. Three men with three needs: one a tent, one a coat, and one a blanket. Having nothing, I drove to the thrift store. God provided all 3 items for $5.00.

I came home and told Lou Ann, “The Lord wants us to minister to the homeless,” and her reply was, "Have you lost your mind?". We began Street Love Ministries together, and here we are. Look what The Lord has done!

- William Puckett

"I was homeless 4 years in the woods and SLM never judged me and offered me support in every need in my life. I am 20 months clean now, housed and living in recovery. A volunteer for Street Love blessed me with a truck. What Street Love did for me is priceless."

- Cat
"Street Love is the real deal. They are where the rubber meets the road in helping the
homeless community."

- Dave
"Street Love changes lives every day, including mine, They provide hope for the
homeless. They show unconditional love."

- Clay
“Street Love Ministries has provided me the opportunity to put my faith into action among the homeless community friends. Sharing the love of Christ using words and our actions brings a smile to those who feel all alone and no one cares !! Receiving a snack bag with an oatmeal cream pie doesn’t hurt either !! Being the hands and feet of Jesus —- a true blessing !!”

about SLM
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
